I heard princess lenya thex(sp?) shouting in Lake Rathe saying something like this

Princess Lenya Thex shouts : "At last I am free from my captors! motions you to follow her into the water 'come quickly!' glug glug."

I asked a person that was hunting here if that was common she said she had heard it a few times before but had no idea what she was talking about or where she was and shes 31 and hunted there often. Any clues?

Where exactly are these firepots in Neriak? I was using a low level DE char I have to check 'em out but none of the ones I found said anything about it being locked.

Ive got a few things to say.
1 that UFO thing in the temple has a beam of light coming from it, has anyone noticed that the npc's there say that it is "sacred water" and from that i was afraid to swim in it, but what would happen if u swim under the UFO and into the beam of light? nobody knows, scary huh? someone should go check it out =)

and 2 the guy with fiery avenger WAS NOT Arudune, and he was in Solb and was whupping the king. i cant recall the name of the guy but i looked at his equip(he ran away like he didnt want me to see it but i had enough time to see that it WAS fiery avenger and when i said "nice sword" he zoned and ignored me, so IF THAT PERSON LOOKS AT THIS! PLEASE! SAY! SOMETHING! because i know that yall DONT beleive me

and 3 i have seen MANY MANY MANY of those symbals, but i never looked at them much.

and another thing i wanna make some cash =)
heres the way, im gonna sell potions on the tribunal server =) enduring breath ones, to the ppl that wanna explore Akanon =) there are underwater caves so, ya might need em =), just give me a tell in game if ya wanna buy one =) he he heh

ok advertisement time
POTIONS OF MANY TYPES! JUST GIVE ME A TELL, AND IF THEY IMPLEMENTED EM I CAN MAKE EM!(prices vary)

Ok I did some research and I think you are going to like it. I found a website with a program to let you open your tutorial and explore the zones in EQ. The interesting thing is that the program shows some of the zones not yet added to Eq.
Check it out its really cool, the URL is:

Hello all ... I just want to say that I was the one who started the '''' Quest for the Akanon star thingy ''' I will definately be on tribunal to help look for it. I need to say that this thread is just so cool... I am glad that my query has gone on so far but am saddened that there has yet to be a soulution to the little turning star. I wanted to give you some background on why I found it. I have a cleric tinker' and have been searching for the elusive book on how to make collapsable fishing pole and such. It had been said that this book was found in steamfont yet I could find nothing... on a side note.... if any of you are very very rich and want to help me determine the tinker cap for the people on theonelist email board create a gnome bump him to 16 put in a point and tinker away... skill starts at 50 for gnomes so at 16 one put would be 51 after the one point you must tinker for more skill start doing lanterns until your skill level maxes my formuala was lvlx5-13 which at lvl 16 would put you at max of 67 please.... please someone with money and time do this for me.. it has been a heated argument... or if Aradune would like to check his formulas to see if I'm right thats good too. I know this is getting long now so I will just mention the word Kunark and what you think the new skills are going to be... to keep this thread having something with kunark in it... I love you all... back to the star thingy supposedly the one who found this book claims it was found in steamfont and not in akanon but he said the way he found it was complete accident... so I clicked on everything ... and when i found that star.. I knew I needed help. And I want to apologize for rambling but I'm at work and its almost time to go... have a good millinium and dont freak from Y2K 8)

First, I'd just like to say: THOSE MOTHERF****ERS!!! Closing our post and not even having the balls to give us a reason why! Probably some brainless administrator who was just checking the boards, decided that it was too high and probably had nothing to do with Kunark so he closed it. Well we did have Kunark stuff in there (I'm pretty sure at least), so screw you Pal!

You left out Miragul. The rumor that there is a way to find his lair.

I'll also be there. Either as a new Gnomish Cleric, or my Barbarian Warrior (aptly named Sycho). Either way, look for someone with a similar name.

I never made it around to posting on the first thread (probably because I dont play EQ any more and the more I remember I sold it at a low price the more I wanna just kick myself, really hard), but I read much of it and it was really interesting, as well as nostalgic in a way.. as many topics rang bells of the rumors and facts I once knew to be my world every free moment of time I had.

hehe... Ultima 9 sucks so bad.. LOL yes its laughable, its so horrible I paid my money and I can laugh it off. it makes Daggerfall look like a bug-free classic. *cough*

Its positive things, like the mysteries, and for some reason every time I hear of a high level mob that was removed due to "pathing problems" or exists but you can't get to them, or similar supernatural type mysteries, jsut kinda' sends shivers up the spine.

I wanna' come back, maybe. But in a way I'm happy I got rid of my bard, as alawys felt severely underpowered to the group no matter how they tried to fix our songs after the mass nerfs on bards in beta (word of mouth mostly i was around phase 4) which also reminds me of a bard song which never hit retail, but once had scribed in my songbook in beta.. Agitato's Taunting tune level 10 songm, you wont find that..hehe probably 'cus it was ALMOST as useless as the identify song.. hehe anyway, aside from being a mana battery, try to pull but songs fail too much and ya dont know it till the entire ghoul lord room is training you with a nice crispy fresk ice comet casting wizard. oh i love this job... my high level resist songs LOOK nice on your stats screen but some reason it jsut seems to ccreate a false sense of securiy. ya know if i see another froglok i think i will honestly swear to rallos zek hurl. Another thing that always baffled me was why it takes twice as many tanks then it does mages to kill Naggy or Vox... ya know before i accidently forgot to backup my hd and formatted, I had some pretty kill screenshots of chaos.. *sigh* my point is it seemed like unless the seekers of norrath did something, on Fennin Ro, it jsut couldn't be done. (hmm they had like 70 high levl members and i think very few were tanks) so the 25+ tanks we bring to naggy with of course at least 10+ casters, and in my many monts of palying I was there to see naggy fall, hmm, never, but I did participate in a winning event once.. but was later rezzed.. hmm (i was crazy i sang songs like a madman mostly resist yet nothing was to stop me from tring to hit naggy and see what its really liek to take 1,000 points of dammage in less then 5 seconds. course then theres the more rumors about the high level mobs being "admittedly" more difficult then on the rest of the servers and this was in a crowded mass of people and EVERYONE agreed or had nothing to say.. I kept silent, nodding my head at the keyboard. ..not like io had any high characters on other servers to really back up this.. but i still to this day believe that Fennin Ro had tougher mobs. (or at least more eggs). but I swear I felt so completely almost useless at level 50 with my bard. I was not at a lack of skill, but a lack of skills to use. Mana song, and ressit/buffs are so tedious (and YES I ALWAYS twisted 'cus I tried my best for everyone). In the end I accepted my character as a mere mana battery and morale support. which trust me, in the end, I was in need more of then anyone.. heh So there I was, my character I loved and hated in full fear plane armor (hate now whatever) and io sold him for a measily $400. At the time it was a major relief.. ..when I created Erebis, I ntoiced he had a far superrior advantage to jsut about anything else I tried before bard... I applied it to my skills, my likes, my enjoyments, running around like mad killing stuff like a warrior (which damn I bet I would feel about the exact same way cept even the warriors can make fun of the bards, hehe..) but as time progressed I realized that there was no way in hell I could make progress in EQ without a group, which i think was great.. the drawback like i said, which i will repeat, is that I felt too useless. more of an annoyance when my lifebar started droppiong and I wasn't dealing any special amount of dammage jsut twisting whatever songs seemed right for the time.. but seemed to be doing little when your party says oom and you (me, the bard) and the warrior die. Bards and warriors made an awesome duo team early on in EQ some things i will never forget like a player who was pretty much abest bud for me during the lwoer levels then comepletey VANISHED off the face of Norrath forever... Gothakmithan. another damn mystery... this person left long before my renewed life for EQ , which has of course since been killed, again..

this has nothing to do with Kunark.. I'm sorry.

I want to return, but I must have a sign that it's what I should do..

(I am no longer) Erebis Spiritrage
Fennin Ro / 50th bard

...damn it bards were never the best at anything... that is once final hit. and i figured my "warrior-like abilities" from the early days, were a treasure, not a burdon which would appear the later levels.
arrgh.. just click post..already

Hmm... the post didn't have anything to do with the expansion so take it to the OTHER boards... pathetic that it got 370 posts and was on the wrong board no less... the only real mysteries of norrath that concern RoK are what classes they can be, what the level cap will be, what zones it will have, what the gm quest (gotta be one!) will be, and Iksar should be bards. I do know that that last one was a statement =)

hmm, as I was reading what I had posted, I was amazed to already see a reply. but I'm not sure you read my entire post (dont blame ya I guess) or just didnt really listen. mwaha! II TOO would LOVE to know what is going to happen with Kunark. Like I said I'd like maybe to return. and What I'm posting are what seem to be the biggest drawbacks which would hold Kunark back in I would hope a lot of people's eyes. ..hmm if I could have a lizardman bard *i doubt it * that would be a damn good start of a reason to start over. but I dont want to end up a victum of the cycles of the other races.

heres a good question or point to be made: When it comes down to the later stages of the game, do your stats matter so much? Gah, probably not.. enemies kill you, fast, period. :/ which means, other then new art, and some new skills, and a few more levels (or a lor more if you really believe this has potential), they BETTER have new spells..songs...tank +good things caster -bad things

more steaming load (or, why can't I go here, or zone!)

I forsee the future: the first day, somewhere deep within an unknown dungeon of Kunark, there is a faint sound, a rumble, then what sounds like a familiar voice screaming "TRAIN!" *at the exact same moment, someplace else in Kunark* "Hey that was OUR kill you scumbag!" mumbling "damn all mighty necros think they can just walk in and KS jsut cuz he summoned my corpse, solod the ghoul lord, arch magi and frenzied ghoul at once with his pet scratching his back." *someplace else in Kunark* "my god 190 people in in this zone." *Somewhere on Antonica* "HelloOo?? where did everyone go??" *Somewhere back within one of the unexplored, 150+ players in the zone, zone* " Hey is anyone out there a monk I need some advice!" moments laters sounds from all over "I'm a monk" "Monk here what ya need?" "Monk" "I'm a monk." "Me too" "LOL" "this game sucks" "Monks rule!" "You suck go away" " Yeaaa monks! woohoo!"

uh oh...

new mystery maybe mentioned all ready. a freind of mine in my earlie eq days when i was new to my guild was on a boat ride through oot and was rightclicking at ocean trying to con the mermaids and accidentaly missed and conned the water and came up with "prexus looks indiferently to you, what do you want your tombstone to say" i cant confirm this as true and have never seen prexus there myself, but i dont think he would lie. thanks-dreiden

The gnoll you speak of is the infamous Lord Elgnub. Boy I wish I were there when he spawns. Rumor has it that he only spawns around once a week.

Supposedly he is part of an unfinsished quest to recieve a sword similar to the Mistwalker sword. Which IMHO is the most awsome weapon I have ever heard of.

For all you Plane seekers out there, goto eq.stomped.com they have pictures of the Plane of Air. This place looks like its going to be awsome. And I hope Veeshan the crystaline dragon is one hell of a fight, because she is like the head god in norrath. I don't wanna see guilds killing her like the first day IMHO. :0

On Verant's behalf, and I am probably going to end up eating my words, but I don't think the first thread was closed intentionally.

The forum I use closes a thread once it hits 5 pages. Similarly, this forum may close them after 10 pages. The thread was probably automatically closed, and I am sure Verant will alot more pages to it so we can continue our fun! After all, they want us to all have fun right?

I wanted to clear up some info on the Blue Hammer. Its actually called a Blued 2 handed hammer. Its 17dmg 50dly Proc: Envoke Lighting. Also, according to various sites the quest begins in Najena and is only available to evil races. So I belive there is little chance Princess Leenya is part of this quest.

Now leading to another mystery. Whats the deal with the great Sir Edwin Motte? He claims to be a brave dragon slayer and champion of the Freeport Darts competition, yet he cons blue to me at 40, hehehe.. I have read from some sources that he carries a rare black helm on him with some nice stats. Also many have claimed he asks for you to help him, If you happen across him in the Karanas..

I'm going to have to agree with DurKhan about the last thread closing, notice it was at 10 pages and exactly 370 posts (could be the limit)

I have noticed this thread isn't as good as the last one though the second reply is a flame...

I hope it hasn't lost it's thunder already

Well, let me apologize for waiting this long to finally post, but I've just now finished reading all the nearly 400 posts regarding this wonderful thread. Great job everyone for keeping alive the mysteries of Norrath! Now for some good news for all you amateur Norrathian sleuths out there...I have been a follower of another very large thread dealing with Norrath's mysteries, which deals with some of the things we've talked about, but also introduces another major mystery which hasn't been touched on here and which may be featured somehow in RoK...the Mystery of the Druid Rings!
This thread is far to long to summarize myself, but needless to say, I had the exact same feeling of awe and discovery reading this thread that I felt when I first stumbled upon the Druid ring mystery thread. It is located at the EQ Druids site (www.eqdruids.com). Find the message board section, go to the Druids Grove, Quests section, and find a thread called The Wise Druids Druid Ring Mystery. Those who have fallen in love with this thread will have a whole new set of theories to chew on!
**BTW the investigative team on the Tribunal sounds most interesting to me, chances are very high that I will start an investigative character there. If aalyn or oath or any of the leadership of the guild read this and end up checking out the druid ring thread, tell me what you think about starting another team within the guild (of druids and such) to investigate the Rings? (And believe me, there is just as much potential and enigma surrounding the Rings as there are in any theory mentioned here!)

Just revisited the Druid board, it looks like (for those that are interested) the Druid Ring thread has been continued and expanded in a thread called "Brad's quests that havent yet been implemented" or something like that. This second thread is now some 220 posts long. I still strongly recommend starting with the "wise druid's druid ring mystery" thread FIRST, then move on to this "Brad's quests" thread second. Lots of info regarding the Rings mysteries, and many posts concerning issues brought up here. Keep Searching for Answers!

P.S. The Wise Druid thread is on the second page of threads, the Brad's quests is on the first page.

When I was new to EQ, I never knew about binding and crap like that, but I was on boat ride in OoT, and zoned, got to the port in Kaladim, and decided to take a quick swim.
I accidentally zone right off the coast and ended back up in the Ocean of Tears. While I was trying to find the zone, I decided to go a lil deep sea diving. But I know you dont believe me, and say it would be false... but I swam down (NOTE: I was still not used to the EQ environment, like in water you get hit for 20 damage if you run out of air) so i didn't know that, but I swam down as deep as I could. It was pitch black, but then i saw like torches and a big cave with a HUGE fish swimming around it... I MEAN HUGE!!! Takes up 3 screens. So i conned it and it said "Lord Darkwash considers you, ready to attack! What yould you like your tombstone to say?" You all think im joking! I Know you do but im not! I SWEAR! So I swam in the pitch dark towrd the torch so I went into the cave when "Lord Darkwash" hit me for 400 some damage. It made this wierd noise. Like a slurping sound. When i died I saw its face and it looked like a large hole with teeth everywhere...

PS This is a damn joke! lol

Well, we figured as much. Don't think you can zone into OOT unless you're on a boat or you gate. And, of course, no newbie could swim that deep, or not completely freak out when he accidentally zoned. Hell, I don't think most newbies are that adventurous anyways.

Newbie:"Hmmm, I wonder what could be out in the water."
Inner Voice:"SHarks."
Newbie:"Ok, won't be going there anytime soon."

About the Cat Room, I've seen the pics of it, and I don't think it's faked. It's got a picture of a kitten's head lining the walls like wallpaper. Also has one of those wall bugs that are found in Befallen on it. My belief: A terrain designer got bored.

It was a joke, but I say its not really off the topic, just wandering around a little bit. And I agree with you that a newbie cant swim that far down without dying, but you can zone into oot with out a boat.

Ok,I loved this thread before they closed ti and I love it still so here is the deal.LETS GET TO WORK!*heheheh*You know there has to be something out there in the world of EQ that we dont know of...game designers have a habit of throwing little easter eggs and hidden things in every game simply for fun if nothing else so lets fin them.

No on to my big beef/flame/rant:Why the hell arent there any good Cleric Weapons?Something besides a weapon from Vox?Wheres is the Cleric Equivalent to the BIBS?Or Bladed Thulian Claws? In my limited knowledge here is the weapons I know off,if you have knowledge of more PLEASE post.

Black Enamelled Mace
Cold Iron Morningstar
Screaming Mace
Bloodforge Hammer
Sharkbone Warhammer

Shining Star Of Light

Ruined Battleworn Morningstar

Blued 2 Handed Hammer/Maul
(Is it real?Or GM only?)

More than likely the cat room is a hoax. Someone probably changed one of the wall textures on his hom pc then took a screen shot of it.

And now, what you've all been waiting for... a Mystery of Norath... that is actually on topic for the Kunark discussion board.

Where did the map of Kunark come from? I keep running into it everywhere, and most of the descriptions say it was taken from the beta... does this mean that the continent was explorable in beta? Was there a digital map that came to all the beta players or is it a hoax?

I made a post asking that and it actually got a response (a week after I had made it, but still). Brad said that the Kunark map would be like the Beta one but would be changed slightly. Something along those lines. Maybe I'll dig up the post.

the cat room is not a hoax. one day i was in befallen, the stairs that go to the third door. at the top is a rock, i was fightintg and got stuck on the rock. had to log out and when i came back it was to a room that had pictures of a cat. i could get the shouts and ooc from befallen. took a passage way and zoned back to the begining of befallen.

the map of kanark that you see is real. It came from before beta. It was part of an earlier map of the worl of norrath with 5 continents, now 3 soon to be 4.

There is a map of Kunark in the game. Its in that Travelling-Office in Felwithe. There are maps of all Continents on the wall. I found it while travelling around with my Barbarian. Did anyone notice that Barbarians cant get in to the Huts of the Woodelves?

Hope that helps a bit....

Well, Barbarians aren't supposed to like Elves (according, to the guide, at least).

Unless of course you mean "can't fit." Just duck down. Don't plan on going to Ak'anon anytime soon though.

The cat room is not a hoax. I was stuck in a wall and a Guide pulled me out, next thing I know I'm in this weird room behind the zone line. You can see and talk to the others on the other side of the line, but if you try to goto them you zone back out of Befallen into the Commons, and you can zone once more and you're back into Befallen in the normal spot. Its a room with the same Cat plastered all over it, roughly 3 pics per wall, plus there is a /LOC cordinate on a wall next to the way out of the room. Someone had to have gotten bored.

I went and got that EZE program, and of course you know one of the places I went was the plane of hate. I have a mystery concerning that along with that symbol we were talking about before (the one with the face in the middle with the circle around it). In all the chairs in the plane, on the front side of the backs of the chairs is a picture of that face that's in the center of that symbol (couldn't get a pic because you can't take screenshots in the tutorial). Also the lower left symbol that's on that symbol with the cirlce can be found on the tree pillars outside of crushbone (I have a pic). Maybe this symbol on the whole means something about the gods, as something representing Innoruuk is in the center.

Also while in the Plane of Hate I found a bed similar to the one in the hermit's house (in South Karana). It' probably means nothing, but if it does the hermit is an Unkempt Druid.

Huh, well I'm pretty sure that the face in the center would be Innorok. It's probably a Necro symbol, used to draw power from the dark gods, or something. Like I said, little more than a repeated graphic.

Ok, out of curiouisty, since I could never dream of stepping on spectre island in Oasis for a long time. I used EZE to check it out. On the first level when you go in is... a firepot! Since you can't do jack in the tutorial (Which is what is used to run EZE) I couldn't tell if it was locked or not, then I went further upstairs, and there was an interesting sight, one of the writings on the ground that we've seen everywhere else, with blue flame coming out and above that, what looks like it's printed on glass is another different writing (same concept though) interesting sight. Also, underwater in the eastern part of the oasis, in between the fishing village and the south shore, is another tower like the one on the island, only no runes, firepot, and half buried.

I think I have a possible lead regarding the most popular mystery of all...the turning star in Ak'anon. I was messing around with it today and something occured to me....

When you click the star, you hear the sound of a door opening and closing. But wait a second...it's a WOODEN door sound (much different than the way metal doors sound), and as far as I can tell, all the doors in Ak'anon are METAL, all except for one building...the Library Mechamagica!

So I went there and poked around, I could see nothing out of the ordinary, except for all the wooden doors, but... you'll also notice when you go there that there are patterns on the walls that are the same shape and color as the stars you see all over Ak'anon, including the enigmatic turning star!

So, all this leads me to the strong conculsion that the secret of the turning star lies in the Library Mechamagica I think this would be good to focus on during the upcoming sweep of Ak'anon.

(If you are new to this post and this mystery, see the original "Mysteries of Norrath" thread.)

P.S: I cast enduring breath and swam through all the water I could find in Ak'Anon, and I, like others, could find nothing out of the ordinary.
