To Raptor:
The zone that Miragul is found in is empty. that whole story sure is pretty, but there are nothing but empty rooms in there. And he casts necro spells. And only NEcro spells. Doesnt matter that he learned from other casting classes, he casts necro spells - nothing more, nothing less.
He may be important in the history of it, but when we kicked his butt (about 2 months ago) he was not all that hard. We havn't been back since because of the lack of items in the zone.
And why would I (or anyone in my guild) post a picture of him on some web site? Why the heck would I want to? The game loses a lot of it's magic from those sites in my opinion. I want to keep the adventure in it for others also. And, I'm sure when someone else finds him (that is only interested in items) you'll see him pop up on some web site.
Havn't seen Mahyong mistmoore though.. Never even "heard" him cast anything and we were sitting on the throne in MM too. hehe
BTW, I looked for the Clockwork Dragon yesterday in Ak'Anon, and no luck. =( All the way to the bottom (by the necro guild in Ak) theres a pit where the water ends that goes straight down.. but it's blocked at the end. Might this have been leading to another zone? Also, hailing the King of Ak'Anon just gets a Clockwork replying to you.. maybe they broke it and will implement it later? Ah well.. And what's with the skele towers (golden towers usually with undead around them). These for some sort of Necro Tele spell? would be nice.. Too bad I play a cleric.. lol

cheers!

fact i am on the eci server, i was in mist moore by the zone invis when a grp of high 40s pulled the mayor to the zone, he was a big ugly ogre who could harm touch at will, they all died. i didnt take a screen shot becuase i thought there was nothing special about him besides being a high lvl npc. This sighting was about a month ago.

Lothanos, it's not that we all don't trust you, it's just when soembody says they fought some mythical NPC, says he was a pushover, says he didn't have any loot, and doesn't provide a screenshot, it's hard to believe. I've seen plenty of screenshots of the Dragons and Cazic, and it doesn't make him any less magical to me (the only thing that would is if I killed him myself). It makes it even harder when people claim to have found the same place you did, only to find that he was not there. Are you absolutely sure it was Miragul you killed, and not some makeshift spawn? I'm not saying you absoulutely didn't kill Miragul. It is possible that he is a rare spawn down deep in the ice, and since he has yet to be itemized he is a pushover.

I've been thinking, perhaps that star lamp switch in Ak'Anon is to the Clockwork Dragons domain? It is hard to believe that a door could be heard that far away from where the domain is believed to be, but I do think it is in the realm of possibility. Maybe the switch opens a hidden door: one of those walls that you can walk through, only this one has a door behind it that can only be opened by using this switch.

Well, lothanos, i was going to try and create such a page, it would be a great source for true adventurers to go exploring, indiana jones style, into the most insane danger where they would never normally go, just to prove that something exists.

However my HTML skills are, frankly, pathetic so wasnt going to do so.

However if you`re willing to start one, i`d be more than happy to be a roving reporter or something.

"So then, Megalodon, what drives you to swim about in the OOT and not do much?"

"Well, i really have nothing better to do, and i darent go anywhere else for fear of a pack of blood-hungry bored lvl50`s to slaughter me, hang my corpse up to dry and say `Damn man, he isnt even itemised`."

"Oh....."

Wayneheart- Are you sure it wasnt a Troll, not an Ogre? If so its not the vampire that this thread refers to. That is Zycotl(sp?) who is part of a high level quest. Though he is a rare spawn, and quite nasty, he isnt the vampire.

(Okay, I'll play)

A few years back (Norath time) I was sailing on the Ocean of Tears. I was chatting with a Ranger who was travelling to Greater Feydark. Suddenly there was a flash of movement, and my Ranger friend was dead. Next thing I know, I am knocked to the deck in a single blow, which nearly killed me. Obviously, whatever attacked us was not as fast as great ship, for we had soon out distanced it, and that was the last I ever saw of it. Sorry I was unable to enquire of its name. Perhaps this is the elusive monster of which you speak.

Well, the page is up, but empty. I'm going to ask that a regular reader/poster on this thread summarize the information for each of the topics on the page so far, and put up a primary post to start us out. slightlysycho, your name is the first to come to mind as far as the right person to do this, so I nominate you. I would, but making it was harder that I thought and now I'm soooo tired.....

The address is http://www.botkin.org/andrew/NIA/NIA.html

check it out. I'd appreciate a comment or two as well if anyone has the time.

Just thought this might heat up the debate about sea monsters.

I came across this picture wile looking over the web site for the man that did all the conceptual art for Ever Quest.

You will see it looks ALOT like a sea going creature, mayhaps this is the fabled Kraken/Leviathane?

ive seen the plane of air, it wasnt much, just a rocky place with lots of places to fall from. as for the miragul thing it sounds interesting but zones such as the extra bb zone paineel the clock dragon or miraguls place arent in the game yet, they way to get to them might be there but they arent accesable, if you do a little bit more looking other then then just looking in the directory youll see the files for them just arent there,
sorry for the gramar and stuff, its late and im tired

I have been to the Plane of Air many times during my stint as a Guide. I am really curious as to see what it will evolve into. There is no way to get from a lower floating rock to a higher floating rock. You can levitate odwn to one or two other rocks, but there is no way to get back up to where you started. There is only one set of vendors in the whole Plane and they are really pissed off at anyone who tries to speak with them (unless you are an appropriately robed Guide or GM). This is the place where Guides and GM hang out when they don't feel like walking among the mortals. As far as I can see, the Plane of Air is gonna be REAL lame. Once you fall off a rock that is it unless you can gate while you fall to the earth, which from some floating rocks is not a very long drop before you take a gazillion hits of health damage.

I personally saw the Kraken in Lake Rathetear about a month ago - but haven't seen it since. I accidentally clicked on it when I was swimming accross the lake. I didn't bother with screenshots because there's been a few posted elsewhere, (which many now people now claim they've proven are fake) nor did I get closer to investigate. In fact, I swam like hell in the opposite direction because of rumors that were going around earlier that week. Nor did I look forward to an underwater corpse recovery if I got too close. But anyhow, rumor was that a full group of lvl 30's got shredded by it in about 3 seconds of combat. Now you can believe or not believe; flame or not flame; the choice is yours. But me? I believe because I saw it with my own eyes. Do I know exactly what it was or where and if it spawns? No - nor will I claim to unless I see it firsthand. Once again, I guess only the GM's know for sure.

Awesome Thread!
I would just like to add a thought on the idea of a zone under Akanon. Someone might have mentioned earlier, but it was mentioned that clicking on something made the sound of a door opening up. Well maybe it is a 2 person process that requires someone else standing by the entrance (wherever it might be, down in the underwater tunnel maybe??) while the other clicks on the star? Anyway just a thought. Somehow I doubt that if it is there and someone finds it that it will end up as common knowledge anytime soon.

LordPolar I commend you on starting a site dedicated to this thread. If for nothing else, it sure beats reading the regular rants and gives us something to think about and a small bit of hope that we might discover something wonderful that has been under our noses this whole time.

Well kiemmai, since the PoA isnt even close to being done. So hasnt been populated or even overworked, I'm sure it will change drasticaly from its current state. I wouldn't make any judgements on the quality of a zone until its atleast near completion.

Sheesh...where to begin...

First, this thread is pretty friggan kewl.

Second, the Allizewsaur in OOT is nothing special. It drops normal level 49 mob loot, has a respawn time of like 3-5 minutes, and is fairly easy to take with a full balanced group. It did drop an egg which possibly could be a quest item, but other than that, nothing to get your panties in a twist about.

Third, you need to get your faction up with one sphinx up to kindly before it'll talk to you with the quest.

Fourth, about Miraguls chambers, I don't have a clue. I DO know that there is a hole in the ice on the way to Permafrost. You swim under the water to the west I believe, into a cave, and out of the water. In this cave is a zone wall to Permafrost, an NPC, and an outhouse looking structure (prettier and white of course) guarded by icebones. This was also the location of one of the rods needed for the ice comet and the wheel quest.

The NPC was no pushover, but was pretty easy for 3 level 50s and my sorry level 40 butt at the time. It dropped 1pp and a red Sr. Appretice robe. The outhouse just bounced you out, so it's prolly the entrance to another zone. Which one? No clue...but it's not implemented.

Fifth, the fiery sword that everyone sees these days is the Soulfire. The Fiery Avenger, upon talking to the GM of E'ci, IS accessable and the quest has been fully functional and ready to be discovered. Brad commented on re-designing the quest to make it a little more visible because as he says it's been too hard for people to find it.

One of my good friends who has since defected to AC was in the middle of the quest when he left. He was reluctant to give up information until he got it because he wanted to be the first...but it was apparent that the reason why the quest is so hard is because of FACTIONS. Apparenty you need to get your faction up for one group, then up for another group, meanwhile if you kill the wrong thing, you harm your faction for a group further down the road. When I finally hit 50, this is quest #1 I'll be on.

Sixth, there was a lot of stuff in Beta that was taken out for production. These have not been reimplemented because the development team has been busy fixing OTHER bugs.

Lord Mistmoore used to be in...if he's a 15 min spawn, I have no clue, but he's been reduced if not taken out completely.
Reason: Pathing in MM has sucked since beta...and it was impossible to fight there if the Lord was in because he would get pulled from anywhere in the castle.

The monster in OOT used to exist, and did shortly in production, but with the boat crashing incidents, Verant looked ahead and removed what would surely be an automatic "kill" to give those who fell in the water a chance to live. In addition, if you swim halfway in the water and halfway out of the water, you can see as far as your clipping plane without water-fog...in doing this all over OOT, I haven't seen a damn thing that would lead me to believe that the water is not to hide anything.

Rumors about the monster in Lake Rathe could or could not be true...but I do know that complaints about the zone caused massive change to the zone. (complaints that it was not a viable way to get to S.Karanas because of the danger in the water) I swam all around underwater in the zone a month ago and found nothing special...but perhaps I just didn't see...

Picking up bags from the group and hearing a door squeak is a bug. I found it all the time in gfay and other zones where people drop foraged items and the such. Most times I try to pick up the bag it doesn't "pick up"...just makes the sound. Nothing special about it being in Akanon.

GMs can use/wear/do anything. If you'll notice in GM quests, their particular class is indeterminate. In an event 2 weeks ago in OOT, a fathom keeper was fought by my party...it could blind, DoT, DD, lay hands, etc. Don't try to apply player rules to GM chars. They don't exist. Flat out the Fiery Avenger is a Paladin sword.

Anyway...just wanted to offer my own thoughts =)

Ok, to clear everything up on the Lake Rathetear Monster
FACT: There WAS a monster in Lake Rathetear by the name of "Megalodon" (Based on the ancient ocean dinosaur) or "Leviathan" (Based on the giant sea monster in the First Testament), it was removed sometime before Tribunal server went up. And was a lvl 53+ mob. He was taken out due to pathing problems. He spawned in a cave under one of the islands, there is something in there now, but no one knows what it is, just that it isn't the monster.
Source: Lead GM Ignaurus, the Tribunal (I hope I don't get him in trouble, he's one of the coolest guides around)

Conjecturable: Was taken out in B4 (Not sure, wasn't a Beta tester); Also possible is he is the monster that is in OOT, maybe they couldn't fix it so they shipped him off to Rathetear?

I found this all out because I had heard someone say that in a trivia held by a GM that the monster was the only mob never killed by anyone. I contacted many of the guild leaders on Tribunal to organize something so we could be the first ones TO kill it, when I contacted our Lead GM, he told me the facts above.

Good News folks!!! I TRACKED the Leviathan today!!! It was in Lake Rathear and I was playing with my retired Ranger, someone in the guild said they tracked one so I got my ranger and did it. Because my ranger was retired, i went looking for it, not caring if I died... It did something very strange though... As I was tracking it, it would pop around "Leviathan is to the left" and then "Leviathan is ahead and to the right" and it would say it was behind me sometimes.. Its either extremly fast or extremly buggy. No I didnt get any screenshots of it saying it, I thought i would find him and take pictures of him and not text because its so easily faked. Please do not call me a liar, because I am not, ive been searching for this a LONG time and disapointed now that I tracked it yet didnt see it. Soon after I tracked it, a netmaster came up and got mid-evil on my booty. If i EVER track him again I will take screenshots, sorry, just telling you it exist =)

A NPC in Qeynos Hills says that there is a sea monster and underwater cities in Lake Rathe... Goto the water section or whatever it is... HAIL the guy in the shack there... He says this place sucks for fishing, goto Lake Rathe... say "What is lake rathe?" or something like that... and he says a sea monster lives there as well as underwater cities...

Ever since then... I was to scared to cross the water in that zone... HEHEHHEEH

THIS POST WAS ALSO PUT ON THE Gameznet.com Message board this is what teh people there have been saying about it.
There are many mysteries and myths in Norrath and though they may never be Solved... but they sure do make an one hell of an interesting conversation... giving the following facts I would like to hear opinions of players on these Everquest Mysteries.
***1. SEA MONSTER IN LAKE RATHE

Fact: There at one time in Everquest was a extremely high level "Seamonster" in Lake Rathe. REMEMBER ALL OF THE ABOVE IS PROVEN TO BE TRUE.

Unproven Information: The Creature in Lake Rathe was a Large Serpent called a "Leviathan" or "Kraken". It is found in the deepest parts of the Lake and is GIGANTIC. It may still be hidden in the Game, or as most belive it was removed from the game due to a pathing problem. It has also been rumored to be removed from the Game and replaced with another mob of equal level. REMEMBER ALL OF THE ABOVE IS UNPROVEN!

IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION REGUARDING THIS MYTH PLEASE POST YOUR INFO! SCREENSHOTS WANTED OF THIS BEAST!

***2. THE FIERY AVENGER

FACT: Aradune once wielded a weapon called the Fiery Avenger that looked like a Flaming Sword. The Sword had been looted off of Aradune by a player in the Arena after a PvP event in the final phases of beta. This the ONLY confirmed time anyone but Aradune EVER wielded a Fiery Avenger. The Fiery Avenger is a two handed slash weapon with very good damage and delay, and a Direct Damage effect. REMEMBER ALL OF THE ABOVE IS PROVEN TO BE TRUE.

UNPROVEN INFORMATION: In the Final Phases of Beta Mithaniel Marr the god was also rumored to drop a Fiery Avenger. The Fiery Avenger is also said to also be obtained though a quest Aradune himself has created... the quest is supposed to be the hardest quest in the game. There have been many rumors of the quest but all have been hoaxes so far. Rumors of the quest are that it has to do with "Killing Norrath's Dragons" and "It starts with a small favor".. (these quotes are Rumored to come form Aradune). REMEMBER ALL OF THE ABOVE IS UNPROVEN!

IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION REGUARDING THE FIERY AVENGER PLEASE POST IT! SCREENSHOTS OF SOMEONE WITH THE SWORD BESIDES ARADUNE WANTED!

***3. THE CLOCKWORK DRAGON

FACT: There are Dragon Bones in the Steamfont Mountains. There is a tale from a gnome in An'kanon telling a Dragon Saving The gnomes. REMEMBER ALL OF THE ABOVE HAS BEEN PROVEN TO BE TRUE.

UNPROVEN INFORMATION: There is a further more in-depth story from another Gnome in An'kanon That tells of a Dragon that once saved the Gnomes and was nearly killed in the process. The Gnomes used their Clockwork technology to save the Dragon by turning him into a Clockwork Dragon to repay it for saving them. Over time the Dragon went Rogue and King An'Kanon sealed the Clockwork under An'kanon forever. In rumor there is supposed to be a another complete zone adjecent to An'Kanon that the Dragon is in. No one has found the Dragon yet if it is even there. REMEMBER ALL OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION IS UNPROVEN!

IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION REGUARDING THE CLOCKWORK DRAGON PLEASE POST IT! SCREENSHOTS WANTED OF THIS MECHANICAL BEAST!

***4.LORD MAYHONG MISTMOORE

FACT: There is a extremely high level Vampire Lord that was in Mistmoore at one time. He only spawns during night. You can lose faction with Lord Mayhing Mistmoore by doing Bard quests in Kelethin. REMEMBER THE ABOVE INFORMATION HAS BEEN PROVEN TO BE TRUE.

UNPROVEN INFORMATION: Lord Mayhong Mistmoore was a level 53 Vampire and the only non-stationary level 53 in the game. Some say he was removed from the game due to bugs with his spawn and that he would often leave the tower he spawned in and go on rampant killing sprees. Some say that he is still in the game it is just that he has a Triggered spawn. He is rumored to drop the Skull-Fanged Stilleto (Even though most people know the Skull-Fanged Stilleto came from Kedge Keep in Beta), and some other nice SK weapons. REMEMBER THIS INFORMATION IS UNPROVEN!

IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION DEALING WITH LORD MAYHONG MISTMOORE PLEASE POST IT. SCREENSHOTS OF THIS VILE VAMPIRE WANTED!

***5. THE OCEAN OF TEARS BEAST

FACT: There is a sea creature of high level that was once in the oot. This beast is not the Aliewasuar thing (sorry about spelling), it is a completely seperate beast. REMEMBER ALL OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION HAS BEEN PROVEN TO BE TRUE.

UNPROVEN INFORMATION: Rangers have picked up this beast on thier tracking and it is supposedly called a Medalodon. It is supposed to be a large prehistoric shark creature. Other rumors say this beast is a "Sea Dragon". REMEMBER ALL OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION IS UNPROVEN!

IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION REGUARDING THIS BEAST PLEASE POST IT! SCREENSHOTS OF THE ELUSIVE SEA MONSTER WANTED! (I think its camera shy)

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.. I WOULD LIKE SOME FEEDBACK ON THESE MYSTERIES AS WELL AS PLAYERS ADDING IN ONES OF THEIR OWN THEY HAVE FOUND.

Very interesting thread.
You could also add the Fire Door in Neriak to the list. Supposedly this is a teleport to Greater Faydark.

Also, there is a bookshelf in neriak (3rd Gate) that looks to be a door.

The day hate openned my guild searched frantically for the entrance, we knew that there was a gate spell, but being the first day we did not know where to buy that what we dubbed "hate stones" that are needed to cast the spell. So the 30(around there) of us started combing ALL of norrath looking for the stones or the entrance, one of our druids stumbled upon what seemed to be a new zone entrance in solA, he said there used to be a big stone wall there and now there wasn't, I'm not sure if he tried to zone through it or not, but if he did then he got "safety ported"(my term) like what happened to you when you tried to zone into solA before it was in the game or if you try to zone into solA now without doing the optional download and downloading the zone.
Just something to think about

The name is Lord Mayong Mistmoore btw. And as for the sea serpent, I formed 2 groups once on Tarrew Marr to go kill this thing, he was not there, we searched the entire ocean with nothing, I recently bought a fishbone earing and explored the underwater areas of Lake Rathe, there is no sea serpent, there are a few sharks, some fish, and a bunch of goblins in a tower in a cave, these goblins all conned blue to me at level 42. There was no serpent and from what I have heard (from various people) that he has not been seen since beta. It is my suspicion that he was removed due to the fact that this is a newbie zone and people were probably killed by him too frequently just trying to swim to a different island. As for OOT, I've yet to explore it (I do plan on doing it this week so I'll let you know how it goes.) As for NPCs apearing on ranger tracking.. unless they see him for all they know the NPC could just be some merchant who is usually too far out for tracking...

I spent much time at the Lake, and have never ever seen a beast. Fiery Avenger is true.....remember Brad saying on a post that it IS in the game, and can be quested for by a high lvl. Clockwork Dragon? I never heard of this one. Beast in OOT? I doubt it. SOMEBODY would have killed it, or got a screenshot. Mistmoore WAS in the game. A guy I work with has a Fang Skull Stiletto that him and his buddies got of MM himself. And whats the deal with the Fire Doors in Neriak? I have never seen it I guess, but I hear about them...whats the story please?

I know I saw a screenshot once of "Megalodon", which appeared as a GIGANTIC shark. Kind of like the Terrorantula compared to giant spiders in scale, I'd guess.
I'm not sure where I saw the pic, but it was probably on EQVault. I doubt their archives go back that far, though... this was a long time ago.

Well, Mithaniel Marr WAS looted after getting owned by Innoruuk(bwuhahaha) on he last day fo Beta. They had the screenshot on EQvault. If memory serves me correctly, Fiery Avenger was 35/55, all/all, two-handed and casts Inferno Shock. Also, Megalodon is NOT he Lake Rathe monster(Rathey??=)), he is in OOT. It is kraken-and they have a screensho of him in the Lake Rathe section at Everlore.com. Never heard of the clockwork dragon thing, but it sounds pretty cool. Mayong supposedly went on a rampage on one of the servers on Nov. 28th-27th-form what I have heard, you have to do somehing outside of Mistmoore to make him spawn, possibly the entire mail quest.

Funny because they say it came off MM himself, and nobody has seen MM or a Stiletto lately. The guy I work with showed me the FSS after hours here at work. He said they got it off MM, but hes not a buddy of mine, so who knows for sure.
Megaladon was a Giant Shark. I am almost positive in Lake Rathe. Ill tried to find the screenshot. I KNOW it was not a cracken. And Everlore has NO screenshot of it like the person stated above. I went over all 50 pages.

Ive busted my butt to find those damned grapling hooks that are spozed to be on the goblines in misty thicket. you start the bead and belt quests and are told to bring any grapling hook devices you find on the goblin's to one of the gaurds (Ok so I forgot which one) are the hooks a myth or been removed? they are Not on any gobs Ive ever killed.

Pay attention, they moved FSS to PoF now. Does the Clockwork Dragon by chance have anything to do with those bones in the form of a dragon near the city? The one with skeles guarding it.

Kulana, Allakazam site used to say the FSS was in Kedge Keep too. They do also mess up stats, so I DO say dont trust it.
Also, the Krackan is an awesome pic. Where the hell was it? I went over 50 pages of Screenshots. Anyways, I said Megaladon the Giant Shark in Lake Rathe. I am not talking about a Kraken. But I am glad I got to see the thing....thanks for posting the links

I know *I* wouldnt want to take a screenshot that showed the krackens bod in it cause then it would say
"a kracken scowls at you ready to attack
a kracken hits you for 300pts of dammage
you are stuned
you have been slain by a kracken!!

LOADING PLEASE WAIT........

<and then my body would lie there at Mr Krackens feet till it disintagrated>

Well, go back to that page with the 50 pages of screen shots... look for the one of "seamonster in oasis" It will be the same screen shot as the above a kraken one, only of Gary Coleman and the text is changed... same person at the top too.

got a bit subisios(i cant spell)when i saw that gary coleman and kraken pic...its with the same person in the exact same spot..but the biggest was the fact that in beta kraken dident look like that i jsut figured they changed him in retail*sigh* oh well

lol this is just like Everlore with about 95% of people spouting rubbish.
That pic of the Kraken does look slightly dodgy, however a good friend of mine Phobus level 50 Erudite Paladin on Tunare was playing his twink in Lake rathe when shouts went up that kraken was killing people on shore, this was about 3 weeks ago now. He called in his guild Talisman all high levels who all turned up to kill it and could'nt find anything. this has now become a running joke on Tunare, and anyone who plays high level character there will probably have heard this story.

A second point about the FSS is that it does NOT drop in PoF, I've hunted there lots and never once has it dropped, this does'nt mean it is'nt there I admit because soul leech has'nt dropped yet, however it has never dropped on any other server in PoF either. It was removed from the game either after beta, or early on in release, because there are only about 5 in existence 1 given after Vox was killed for first time, and a few others from GM events.

Also Mayong has been turned off because he was exploited somehow, there was a way to kill him without getting killed.

I don't know if it was true-to-life or if it was an effect of being up at oh...4:00 AM, but 'bout mid-summer i had a warrior char on E'ci named Mr.cookie, and I had just gotten some cool armor...oh well, nuff of that. I was on the boat heading to Faydwer and I was playing around with the controls for the camera and moved around....and fell off. I did the usual shout-and-scream-for-mercy-from-the-gods-thing and then I saw it.. It was near the bottom of the sea (oot) and it looked like a HUGE, hiary worm that moves fairly slowly and I was scared shitless and was afraiad of it, and of course the natural instinct was to run away, which I did, and subsequntly (whatever, don't ask me to spell) I did not con it or whatever...and then I drown and I saw it again swimming away. and I say again, i don't know if it was just my late-night cravings of eq, orthe real thing, but I belive this is the famed OOT monster

Green splinted was dropped in Sol B during Beta, but was removed in retail. If you saw green splinted, it was someone who was wearing happylove bracers(part of troll quest) or a GM.

The Wurm Queen is the Goddess Veshaan, she is a Dragon and you can see her picture in the manual, that creature isnt her.

Second: Megladon was a extreamly large shark not a dinosaur, hate when people get the Mezezoic creatures mixed up =]

ell,I just found something interesting. In the Ak'Anon Palace, there are some white symbols on the floor. And in Neriak-3rd Gate, there is an exact copy of it(a little bigger though). I asked a GM about it and he wouldn't say anything about it,but then I probed him for more info, and then he said
"Even the guides haven't figured that out yet". Now that means they mean something. If anyone gets any info on them,E-mail me.
And I am interested in starting a guild on the Solusek Ro Server with the focus being to try to figure out these mysteries. E-mail me if you are Interested.

a little more on the post just bove mine, one of those symbols is in Lake Rathe on top of the tower with the Erudites in it on one of the islands, just my two bits 8^) Oh and the last I heard of Mayong Mistmoore, hell make a SK and goto LFay, make sure it's an eveil race sk too and you'll have free reign over the zone..know why? evil race sk's aren't KOS there 8^) so now you can see MM. BTW back in September I read a report on the Mother site from players in Mistmoore telling of their night of endless undead attacking them and the finale of Mayong coming out and waxing everyone 8^) Love this thread BTW, we should reall get someone to help figure this out

I would think maybe, if possible, the ppl working on EQ throw in one of these sea creatures once in a great while. Then after they start getting everyone worked up over dying by some huge creature they take it out.
Is this possible?

Otter, sadly what happened to you isn't something mysterious. You fell through the world. This happened to me a lot during beta, and twice in early release. Sometimes I would be just hanging way up in the air. Other times everything was very dark, and these huge numbers went on and on. The numbers I remember seeing were 930 931 932. Dunno what they are. Once, I was Tox, next moment I was in Gfay (luckily I didn't 'fall' this time).

Anyway, it is a bug, an awful one too. You have no way of proving what happened. Except for screenshots. I sent screenshots in, both times I died, and Verant still didn't reimburse me for the EXP I had lost due to falling for a billion damage. So its a little grain of salt you have to put up with.

I have fallen throught the ground too. This happened in Kith Forest and I was charmed by some skeleton commander. It started to move me into the rivervale ent, but i didnt zone. Then i fell through the earth and was teleported to the rock that say to freeport.
Another strange thing is that sometimes whiled being attacked in runny eye I wont zone i will sit past the zone and the creature just waits for me.

Blerian- It is iwdely accepted that the large aquatic beast in Lake Rathe was, at one time, a static spawn that has since been removed. The reason for the removal is still pegged on pathing problems, but I think it was just due to the annoying water combat system in EQ. It is possible, however, for a GM to force spawn and assume control of it if he felt the inclination. But there have been no reports of that happening.

As to falling "through" the world, it happes and I have done it twice(I took screenshoots, they are soooo not right). Usualy it will transport you to a safe point, in the way the two "wormholes" did(BTW- The wormholes were removed last patch, looks like I actualy have to walk through WK now=(...) However the second time I fell, I was trapped below the world, looking up. Luckily, being a caster with gate, I got out, but if I hadn't had that, I might have been down there a while.

Wow, this post has gotten long. Guess I'll just add some more.

That isn't the Fanged Skull Stilletto in the Plane of Fear. It's the Serrated Bone Dirk, I think. It's dropped of Dracoliche I heard.

Those white circles that look like they're drawn in chalk? They're all over the place. I think it's just a static spell casting ornament (circle of power or something).

I just have to say, I find it hard to believe that a handful of people can comb OOT or Lake Rathetear and say for certain there is nothing down there. According to my world map (I got it from EQ Stratics), OOT is the Largest zone in the game, and Lake Rathe isn't to tiny either. The chances of two moving objects running into each other aren't necessarily high. And I'm almost certain that the OOT one would be mobile. Pull out your clipping plane and stay at the water boundary; you still have a very unlikely shot in my mind. I doubt less than fifty people could effectively comb either zone.

That would not solve the prblem at all...the creature cold be a triggered spawn, and they would trak anything.
I hope there is something there...but until someone takes a screenshot of it or the traking of it I' will be esceptical.
Another rumor...very obscure....I read some time ago a post that said you could become a licantrope, and all player names apeared as "Food". For what I recall, it was an interview with some bigshot in the team...I would be surprised that it was just a fake rumor...but maybe someone know something about it.

first of all this thread is awesome. i was planning on going to bed almost 2 hrs ago.. lol
secondly, as to the falling through the world. a few weeks ago my buddy went LD, as he always does. when he came back on he said he was upside down. i inquired as to what he meant. he said if he looked up he saw the earth and if he lookd down his feet were in the air. from what he said he was up about 40 50 feet (ratio wise) he couldn't get down. tried jumping didn't help. i couldn't see him so i couldn't help, he petitioned and in like 10 seconds there was a gm there to get him down. thats all i know about that subject.
thirdly as for the fiery avenger. i can't be totally certain that this is what i saw but, i have seen a flaming sword twice near freeport. the first time i saw it was right before i zoned from e comm to w freeport. the real info comes in now (i think) my sis plays a lvl 33 wiz. 2 or 3 days ago i watched her and about 7 or 8 other 30+ pc's kill a guard in west freeport. the guards name was something like captain lucas or lucan something like that. the loot on him was a flaming sword. it took all of them about 10 to 15 minutes to kill him (with a couple of their own deaths in there as well)I just stood back and enjoyed the show, being a lvl 15. afterwards i helped to heal them all. i didn't think to inquire the stats or name of the sword but will tomorrow. and get back to you all soon.
